How we vet

Why “specialist” actually means something here

Every therapist clears the same four-step bar before they can be matched with a single client.

1

Verified licensing

We confirm every therapist holds an active licence with their provincial regulatory college, Psychologist, Psychotherapist (RP) or Social Worker (RSW), and is insured to practise.

2

Demonstrated ADHD expertise

Not a checkbox. We look for specific ADHD training, a meaningful share of ADHD clients, and a treatment approach grounded in the evidence base.

3

A values & fit interview

We meet every therapist to gauge how they actually work, shame-free, neuro-affirming, and genuinely good with the lived experience of ADHD.

4

Ongoing quality care

We listen to client feedback after matches and keep checking that the fit, communication and outcomes hold up over time.

Good to know

The credentials, decoded

Canada has a few different licensed therapy designations. All can be excellent for ADHD, and your coverage may depend on which one you see.

Psychologist

Registered Psychologist

Doctoral or master's-level training. Can conduct psychological assessment and diagnosis, and is often the designation insurers reimburse most readily.

RP

Registered Psychotherapist

Specialised, master's-level psychotherapy training. Deep expertise in talk-based therapy and modalities like CBT, ACT and DBT skills.

RSW

Registered Social Worker

Clinically trained in therapy with a strong lens on context, work, family, school and systems, alongside evidence-based methods.

We'll help you check what your specific plan covers before you book.
